Interpon D is an advanced powder coating, which is very durable, hardwearing and very resistant to weathering and carries a guarantee of up to twenty-five years depending on the location it is being used.
The finishing process begins with the stock lengths of aluminium profiles going through a 9 stage pre-treatment process of acid baths, chromate primer and de-ionised water which is all controlled by the highest environmental legislation. This process is a very important stage in the finishing process and we carry this out to the exacting standards laid down using the Qualicoat codes of practise.
The powder is electrostacally applied and then baked on in a process which takes about 20 minutes to create a smooth and even film on the aluminium profiles with a minimum thickness of 60microns. This film is available in matt satin or gloss finish.
Under the Qualicoat standards quality control checks (to BS EN 12206-1 2004) are made at every stage of the process from checking the chemical make up of the pre-treatment tanks, to the carrying out impact tests on same batch sample panels along with checking film thickness.
